Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different kinds of sources which could power forklifts. They could run using liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various applications. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machinery must be refueled.
In order to prevent potentially serious injury, certain safety measures must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For instance: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
