Aisle Types
Lift trucks are classified due to the types of aisles they have been designed to work in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are several aisle widths to consider with various units.
Very Narrow Aisle or VNA trucks operate in less than 6 feet places and usually use particular guidance systems such as wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel in the aisles. Some various models of VNA trucks include Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are popular kinds in compact retail areas and in some storage and warehouse situations.
NA or Narrow Aisle trucks are able to work within aisles which are 8 feet to 10 feet. Generally these are stand-up units like Reach Trucks. They are often used in warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work in aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to lessen operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is very large and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body exhaustion by easing frequent entry and exit. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest along with a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting exhaustion.
